Hyproca Holding takes share in HB Food Group B.V.
Hyproca Holding BV, among others owner of Hyproca Dairy BV at Ommen and Lypack BV at Leeuwarden, has acquired a share in HB Food Group.

HB Food Group comprises the companies Holland Geiten Melk BV (collector of goat milk from farmers), CBM B.V. (goat dairy products for the industrial market), Xpert Fine Foods B.V. (consumer products based on goat milk) and Xpert Nutrition B.V. (babyfoods).

HB Food Group specializes in the collection of goat milk and sales of a wide range of products based on goat milk. Its core business is the sale of goat milk products (milk powders) to industrial customers around the world. Furthermore the company sells a wide range of consumer products which are sold under the Cabrima brand in The Netherlands and abroad.

Both companies have a long relationship with each other. Hyproca Dairy BV processes, among others, a part of the goat milk of HB Food Group BV into cream, butter and goat milk powders. The participation in HB Food Group B.V. strengthens the position of Hyproca Dairy BV in dairy niche markets. HB Food Group B.V. gains a better access to production-facilities, especially for specialties. In this way it can focus stronger on the development and sales of value added products from goat milk.

CBM Team

Taking leave of Sabine
Sabine Rouwhorst has left our company. After working for 9 years for CBM, she felt it was time for her to spend more time with her children. We will miss her input and experience, but we are happy she worked with us for such a long time. The job of Sabine has been taken over by Hedwich Wesselink (wesselink@cbmbv.nl). We wish Sabine all the best for the future.

Welcome Henrike
As of April the 1st the CBM team has a new member; Henrike Wemekamp.
Henrike joined CBM in the position of Manager RD and QA. We have asked her to introduce herself.

My name is Henrike Wemekamp and as of April the 1st I am working for CBM B.V. as manager RD and QA. Before this I was working for Qlip as manager of the microbiological laboratory. The work here at CBM is quite different, but very interesting and because of my study Food Technology and Dairy at Wageningen University, I do have knowledge of quality assurance and research.

After my study Food Technology I did a PhD in Food Microbiology. This study was on the mechanisms of stress-adaption (e.g. adaptation to low temperatures and high salt concentrations) of L. monocytogenes. After finishing this project I worked as a microbiologist.

I live in Vroomshoop together with my husband Harm and two children, Hannah (3) and Jenneke (18 months). We are busy building a new house. Meanwhile we live in a mobile home, which is standing in our future front yard. We have to manage, but it is ok. I enjoy

vacations, taking day trips, shopping etc. with Harm, my two children or with friends. I also like to read and play squash, but unfortunately I don’t have much time for this lately.

I hope to meet and talk to you in the near future,

Kind regards, Henrike”

CBM - 10 Years anniversary!
This year CBM celebrates its 10 year anniversary! CBM was taken over in 1997 by Ben Busser. Since then the company has grown into Europe’s largest producer and exporter of goat milk products for the b2b market. The past 10 years CBM has had its ups en downs. Looking back on the past 10 years ,everything proved to have been a learning experience that made the company stronger. All the experiences of the past 10 years make CBM what it is now and that is something we are proud of. In 10 years of time CBM has gained a lot of knowledge and experience about the goat milk market and our goat milk products. CBM is still thé goat milk specialist from Holland!

On behalf of the entire CBM Team we want to thank everyone who has shown confidence and dedication the past 10 years and we hope many years of cooperation may follow!

100 years anniversary!
The Netherlands Association for the Advancement of Dairy Science was founded in 1908. The objective of the association was to advance the knowledge on dairy and to stimulate the application of this knowledge. In the beginning the emphasis was on chemical and microbiological quality and quality assurance for milk and milk products. Later on, the association meetings  also became important opportunities for workers in dairy industry and research institutes to meet and exchange ideas.
The association published the Netherlands Milk and Dairy Journal since 1947. In 1996 this journal was incorporated in the International Dairy Journal.

In 2008, the 100 year anniversary is celebrated.  On this occasion, the International Dairy Journal issues a special edition with contributions of Dutch and Belgian scientists. The articles cover the field of dairy science in the Netherlands and Belgium. It ranges from microbiology , protein polyformism, raw milk quality, heat treatments to rheology and health aspects.
